Home network cabling in Levenshulme
Victorian terraces, a lot of loft conversions, and a lot of people working from the back bedroom.
Levenshulme is where we live, and it is where we first did this, on our own house. The housing here is a fair test of the method: solid brick Victorian and Edwardian terraces, many with loft conversions, and a rear bedroom that became an office in 2020 and never turned back.
Most of these houses have a tiled bathroom sitting between the front of the first floor and the back bedroom. That is usually the thing killing your wifi, and it is exactly what a cable around the outside makes irrelevant.
The catch here is the terraces. If you are mid-terrace with no route around the outside, an external run cannot reach the back of your house without crossing next door, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a survey. If you are on an end plot, or one of the semis on the streets off Stockport Road, you almost certainly have a route.
What we do
A cable around the outside, not through the middle
We run weatherproof, solid copper Cat6 around the outside of your house, from your router to the rooms you actually work in. Two small sealed holes, proper wall sockets at each end, a multi-gigabit switch in each room, and every run tested. Nothing goes through your floors or your plaster, so there is nothing to redecorate.
One question decides whether it will work at your house: can you walk around the outside from the front to the back without crossing a neighbour's land? If you can, we can almost certainly help. If you cannot, we will tell you for free.
